The command center is still in progress, but the cork board and dry erase board were finished today.
The empty frame will soon have some small, shallow wall shelves inside to hold supplies and/or products. This morning, the cork and dry erase boards were gold inside, but I had a sudden change of mind and made them white lace instead. Need my girly touches since the walls aren’t pink.
Still saving for the cowhide, and will probably get more white bins and/or baskets to keep the shelves simple and uncluttered. Once we can get our hands on a few more wine crates, they will be stacked and turned into movable shelves.
I’ll keep you updated as this room continues to change.
We started clearing out the powder room last night and we’ve already discovered several additional “issues” that will need to be addressed. There are a couple strange dilemmas that I will probably need your help with!
PS Here is the latest update on the office.

ReplyDeleteHit us with the powder room dilemma, we are happy to help
Thanks, I think I'm going to like working in here.
DeleteIt looks so fresh and so clean! I love the painted floor. Your guests will have no choice but to feel relaxed in there :) The white lace on the corkboard is just lovely and I also like the plans for a cowhide. Can't wait to see what you do next!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meagan! Great to see you online again! :)
DeleteI just love your tranformation..so light and airy and just beautiful! Come link up to Centerpiece Wednesday on my blog and share you idea.
ReplyDeleteKarin
Thank you, Karin.
DeleteThis looks so cool Christina!! LOVE your floors, how are they wearing?
ReplyDeleteAwesome color palette too - You've been busy!!
Thanks Courts! The floor in this room is wearing very well. It was painted many, many years ago and then had carpet put over top, so we just pulled the carpet out. Unfortunately, they didn't cover the floors when they painted the room dark orange, so there are orange splatters all over it. We may put a fresh coat of white on it someday.
DeleteI did however paint our living room floor white, I'll do a post on how that is holding up when we get that room's renovations!
Where is the sofa from? I'd love to do the same thing with our tiny guest room!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachael! The sofa is from Ikea, it's a great deal. You can read more about it here: http://www.littlevictorian.com/2012/06/choosing-perfect-sofa-bed-for-such.html
DeleteOh, and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great room. Makes me think of summertime!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I may have missed this but what color did you paint the walls? I'm thinking of painting my living room that color. So calming!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The walls are "cumulus cloud" by Martha Stewart. It's a lovely almost white gray.
DeleteLovely. It's inspiring me to tidy up my spare room. Can you please tell me what brand and color of paint you used on the walls?
ReplyDeleteSo excited that the room has inspired you! The walls are Martha Stewart's "cumulus cloud." I use Behr paint.
DeleteThey many tell you at home depot that the color will not come out true, but I haven't found that to be an issue. Behr is better quality than the glidden they may try to sell you.

Thanks for the inspiration, info and the tip! I know how I'm spending next weekend.
DeleteHow about the ceiling - is it the same color as the walls? Hard to tell.
DeleteThe ceiling is actually a light blue, very fresh with some green undertones. It's called Enamelware, also by Martha Stewart.
DeletePlease share pictures when you're finished with your spare room, I'd love to see!
I was puzzled when I discovered that "cumulus cloud" was gray, as all I noticed was the beautiful blue tint from the ceiling. Heading to Home Depot in the morning to check both colors out.
DeleteHi there. Room looks great! Can you tell me where you purchased the sconces above the couch?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thank you! The lights are actually small table lamps from Target.

hi there great room...just a question for a novice decorator....why did you do the ceiling blue? is it to reflect light? thanks:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The ceiling is blue just because I wanted some color, but as much as there would be painting all four walls. And I just like the look of a colored ceiling and neutral walls. :)
DeleteI did, however also want to reflect as much light as possible in the room too, so the walls and ceiling were painted with a satin finish. That helps a great deal in making the room feel brighter.
Lovely room! I'm really impressed and especially love the desk. Will you tell me where you got yours? Thanks!
ReplyDelete-Erhu
Thank you!
DeleteThe desk is from IKEA. The legs: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00144763/ and the table top here: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10071172/#/90071168.
We have been using it for years and still love everything about it. And the combination is still under $100, you can't beat that!
