I mentioned last week that I’m helping to decorate a room for someone. It’s going to be a sewing room.
Generally, sewing rooms are pretty kitschy. That’s not what we’re going for here. The lady of the house has a very tailored (ha!), sophisticated style. She’s always liked black and white and bold colors, done in a simple, streamlined way.

We decided to go with black, white, and gray with bright yellow accents. Here is what the room currently looks like:
The only thing that needs to stay are the two tables.
First, the walls are going to be painted gray and the doors glossy black. The carpet will be taken up and replaced with cork (eventually). We are going to put in a wall of storage (where the artwork is in the first photo).
We’re currently brainstorming how to dress up the folding tables. Any ideas?
