As ready as it’s going to be today

Apparently, today wasn’t supposed to be the deadline after all?  But we haven’t had an update yet from Emily, so I will go ahead and share my very unfinished house.

Sorry about the bad pictures, it’s dark here and the lighting in our real house isn’t that great, so I had to use the flash.

The bedroom:

Please ignore the unfinished window frame.  The dresser is a temporary thing I made out of a block yesterday because I forgot to buy one!  My electrician was having trouble getting his supplies, so the house isn’t wired yet.  When it is, the sconces on the sides of the bed will be lit.  The flash washed it out, but the back wall is gray on white damask.  Photo wall needs some work too.

The bathroom:

The office:

Never got to removing the wallpaper that the house came with here.  Still have to get another desk in there and shelves over the cabinets.  And of course, like every where else, we need accessories.

The living room:

Oops, left a lamp shade on the coffee table.

The backs of the shelves are in the process of being painted gold (like the center one).

The kitchen:

Still don’t have a faucet.  And I have four of the bar stools, but even though they have been sitting in the same spot since I purchased them, today, they went missing.  All except for one, and there he is.

Ugh, these are so washed out, sorry.

The entry/dining room:

I am going to take better pictures in the daylight tomorrow and repost them.  Probably post some before and afters as well, but right now, I’m ready for a break from the dollhouse.

I want your dining room light fixture. I might copy that. Sort of. The dining room rug is awesome, too. And the coffee table, gold-backed bookshelves, herringbone/shell tile floors! I’m super impressed with how much you got done!!

wow! what a great job! you really accomplished a lot! i’m also relieved that the deadline got pushed back – what a crazy time of year! where in the world did you get that adorable garden stool?

    Thank you, ladies!
The dining room rug is actually a washcloth. The coffee table is a bracelet, I cut a piece of plexiglass to fit the top of it. And the garden stool was a little wooden barrel I found at Michaels. I just painted it orange and used a Sharpee to draw the cut-outs.

Roscoe told Tonka he’s got the chairs. He’ll give them back for two pieces of grilled chicken topped with cheese.

Alright, I’m taking away Roscoe’s cell phone. No more plotting with the cousins.

Hi, I’m Christina.

Little Victorian is your place for inspiration, education, and encouragement for how to be your own interior designer and decorator, and how to carry out your big plans yourself too.

It starts with psychology, then artistry, and ends with power tools. None of those are scary, and you really can do it.
