Decanter as bedside water pitcher

We drink a lot of water at night and early in the morning, so we have always kept plastic water bottles on the nightstand.  Those aren’t so pretty.  A while back, I upgraded us to cute stainless steel bottles, but still, it wasn’t the greatest addition to the bedroom.  So today, to replace them all, I purchased this:

Decanter as water pitcher wooden stopper

An $8 wine decanter from Home Goods and a $1 wooden sphere from the craft store as the stopper.

wine decanter to hold water on nightstand

It should work well for us.  As long as I remember to keep it filled and keep clean glasses available.

I did this!

That wooden sphere is genious. Looks like it belonged on the pitcher. I like your bedside table (bedhead 🙂 table?) too.

Haha, it is a bedhead table! I also realized after I posted that it’s the same as the little table I made for my office because of lack of space.

I LOVE this! I need one of these beside my table…..it would make it feel like a bed and breakfast!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Love. Much more attractive than plastic bottles. The wooden ball-stopper is genius. And I love that embroidered throw pillow, great colors and pattern.
I found an amazing art-deco coffee carafe at Goodwill for $5. I use it in a similar fashion, although, somehow it always is filled with wine, not water. Probably fine.
My name is Meagan, and I (almost) have a problem…

Hi, I’m Christina.

Little Victorian is your place for inspiration, education, and encouragement for how to be your own interior designer and decorator, and how to carry out your big plans yourself too.

It starts with psychology, then artistry, and ends with power tools. None of those are scary, and you really can do it.
