We got back from our Thanksgiving vacation yesterday. It was a great trip in a beautiful place and we were inspired by so many things we saw. Like this, for example:
I was so excited to come across an entire mini village!
The details in it were great. There was even a castle on top of the hill at the edge of town (apparently I forgot to get a photo of it). Of course, I was especially excited about it since my mind is on minis right now.
There were so many gorgeous buildings with great architecture and design. I’ve always loved anything Moroccan, so when I saw that style, that’s what I took the most pictures of.
The photo on the top right is a little blurry, but it was a gorgeous tiled wall. It was a floral mural made of one inch square tiles, so it looked pixelated. So pretty! Above and below the flowers were long and skinny stone tiles.
The trip was relaxing and refreshing and now we’re ready to get back to work on the house (and the dollhouse). The powder room was put on hold for about a week before we left because of yet another project that came up. (But now our basement is more organized and we have a secondary heating system, so that is nothing to complain about.)
We now have a deadline to get the room finished by though, since we have family coming to stay in 2 weeks! Hopefully I’ll be posting about major changes in there soon.
PS: So excited about what I’m hearing and seeing for the dollhouse contest so far! I’m gathering up some photos and writing some summaries for my first post on your progress. Keep the updates coming and if you’re going to join us, don’t forget to link up on the contest page.
Hey a mini village! That place would be such an inspiration for ME!
Are those real trees and plants?
That last picture of some carved stone(?) is a work of art.
Yes, they were all real trees and plants, it was so neat.
And yes again, that was carved stone, it was just one archway of about a dozen that matched it. The ceiling in the picture next to it was carved stone as well.
