Our new sofa has finally arrived.  We went without one for a month and a half after selling our last one, and let me tell you…that was not fun.  But it’s here, and it was worth the wait.

Leather sofa

We love the worn look the leather has even though it’s brand new.  We got samples of the different leathers this sofa came in, and we beat them all up.  Scratched them, rubbed them, crumpled them.  The other samples looked okay, but this one looked better the more it was used.  Of course, it was the more expensive option, but it was worth it.

The new living room chairs are finally in their place too.

Modern wingback chairs

I’d show you the whole room, but there are some other changes I want to make first.  As much as I love the rug, I’m not really loving it in this room, mainly with the new chairs–they just don’t go together well.

While the old sofa was great, this one is perfect for us.  WAY more comfortable, easier to keep clean with the dog, it will only look better with age (unlike the last one that was starting to look pretty rough), and it’s just more our style.  I’ve just been giddy the last couple days over it.

Your new sofa is lovely! I love leather sofas with pets and kids.

Thank you, Julie. We’re excited to not have a fur magnet anymore. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love it! You’re right. The weathered look is perfect. Congrats on finally having a place to sit again!

I just love those brass end tables in every photo you post of them. Where did you get them?
I like the rug with the couch, but when you’re not feeling it, you’re not feeling it. The changes are looking great!

The Hubs just yelled out “HA! Anita agrees with me!” So I had to come check the comments. ๐Ÿ™‚ He still likes the rug in here too.

The tables were from Target…nice and affordable.

WOW! Love the couch–and the end tables! I thought that was an inspirtaion picture–the first one–instead, that’s your house? You are so smart to go with such a classic option. Sofas are forever. (PS You are right about that rug. It is too busy and too casual for those chairs.)

Such a change in style from the old sofa! It looks extremely comfy though- like a lot of lounging could be happening on that thing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi, I’m Christina.

Little Victorian is your place for inspiration, education, and encouragement for how to be your own interior designer and decorator, and how to carry out your big plans yourself too.

It starts with psychology, then artistry, and ends with power tools. None of those are scary, and you really can do it.
