A few months ago, we sold our old brass and glass coffee table. (And the refinished bar cart too.) We went without a coffee table for a couple months because I kept waffling about what to replace it with.
I really wanted a hard surface, but we always put our feet up when sitting on the sofa. So while I would have enjoyed the look of a table more, we really needed an ottoman. And if we were going to go with an ottoman, it needed to be a storage ottoman, because it’s so nice to have a blanket handy while curled up on the sofa in the evenings.
So I finally picked this one up at Target. We were impressed with the construction, it feels nice and sturdy for being so inexpensive. The top will probably need new padding in a year or two, but cost savings was worth it…this one was on sale at Target for $150. And I used up a bunch of those $5 gift cards you get from Target for buying toilet paper (and other things) in bulk that I’ve been hoarding, so it only ended up costing $100.
And it has such cute little legs on casters.
Oh, and a while back, I replaced all of our cheap window sheers with bamboo blinds. We are so much happier with these. And they’re a steal at Big Lots for only $8 a piece!
I think we can call this half of the living room done (until we get a new sofa).
