New things, any thoughts?

The blog looks a little different today!  I wasn’t tired last night when bed time came around, so I decided to see if I could come up with a better logo.  One thing led to another and I ended up scrapping the whole blog design and starting from scratch.  Took a while, but it was a fun project.

I’m still torn about the left sidebar or right sidebar question. I never liked them on the left before, but I did it anyway. Do you have a preference when you’re visiting blogs?

I also got to hit up Goodwill yesterday, and as usual, left the store just giddy about the things I scored.

Like this little office chair.  How cute is it?  And it was $9.  $9!  I love the white legs and brass casters.  And it’s comfy too.  It will be going in the Hubs’ attic office for me to use while working on the dollhouse.

What should I recover it with?  I’ve been dying for some gray linen lately, but that seems a little boring.  Maybe a navy twill with white piping and buttons?   Any other ideas?

And I can’t tell you about my other major score yet, it’s going to be a surprise.  I have big plans.  BIG.

Have a great weekend everybody!

I love the chair!! Such a Miami Vice vibe! I can so imagine a day cruiser under it. Oh yeah.

Like the new look a lot. I have never paid much attention if the sidebar is on the right or left, but it seems it’s more common to have it on the right. I like the black on the sides but don’t really enjoy the “do not enter” signs on the backround.

Ha! I was very confused about your comment. The only thing I carried over from the old design was the gray grasscloth background and that’s all I see from my end. I had to open the blog on my phone to see what you were seeing on the sides. No idea what the deal is with the do not enter signs…I have some work to do. 🙂
Thanks so much for pointing that out, Leena!

Oh! Well I see you got it fixed since now I see just the gray backround, which is pretty!

Ow what an awesome find! and for so little money too.. I really like the colors as they are. Or maybe some burgundy, to stay in the warm tones 😉

Since I saw your tweet about your redesign, I’ve been thinking about the left versus right haha
It is true most blogs have it on the right, so you’re kind of used to it. But I think it looks really nice like this!

Thanks, Anne! I do like the color as it is now too, and the material is in surprisingly good shape, but the vinyl feels (and sounds!) very plastic-y to sit on.

Very cool chair at an excellent price. Can’t wait to see it reupholstered. Good luck!

New design is sleek and modern. I dig it. I’m old school and prefer right hand side nav, but just a personal preference.

Yeah, I’m STILL debating left or right. So indecisive. Especially strange since I actively disliked left before.

Omg so jealous of your Chair find! I think either upholstery option would look great

Hi, I’m Christina.

Little Victorian is your place for inspiration, education, and encouragement for how to be your own interior designer and decorator, and how to carry out your big plans yourself too.

It starts with psychology, then artistry, and ends with power tools. None of those are scary, and you really can do it.
