Okay, they aren’t potatoes, they are rocks from the backyard.
I was going for something like this:

House and Home
While I thought we had lots of beautiful rocks in our backyard, it turns out, they all just look like potatoes when they are brought inside.
I don’t particularly care for potatoes as doorstops.  If the sun ever comes out again, I’ll go back yard shopping again for some prettier rocks.

I have been loving those as paper weights, they could be used as door stops too! Great idea.

Those pretty rocks look like river rock (or maritime beach rocks).

      Well hello, Mrs. O!

They do. We have lots of granite and quartz in our yard, so hopefully I can find some of that. If not, I can hike down to the creek behind our house and hopefully find some like the ones in the photo.

I laughed – quietly though, because my kid was just falling asleep. It is a good idea, though…maybe you could paint them?

Oh, that’s a good idea too…maybe something bold like glossy navy or pink?

Hi, I’m Christina.

Little Victorian is your place for inspiration, education, and encouragement for how to be your own interior designer and decorator, and how to carry out your big plans yourself too.

It starts with psychology, then artistry, and ends with power tools. None of those are scary, and you really can do it.
