It’s the first day of spring! I can never decide which is my favorite season; I get equally excited over the beginning of each of them. (And I’m sure I tell you that at the beginning of each season too.)
In looking forward to this spring, however, I’ve had more of a focus than ever on simplifying.
So much so that two of the most used words in this house over the last couple months may have been “simplify” and “purge” (just ask The Hubs…poor Hubs). Now, we always liked to think that we kept things pretty simple and uncluttered around here. But I’m starting to see otherwise lately.
This is the stuff we gathered up to get rid of in just one week. And it’s just the beginning. We already have almost that much being stored for the church yard sale, and I’m hoping to add at least this much over again.
It’s funny how de-cluttering the house makes you see how cluttered other areas of your life can be. Obviously, our minds also get easily cluttered, but why? Have you ever thought about de-cluttering your digital life? Your social life? Your calendar?

And then you should really check out these blogs: Becoming Minimalist & Small Notebook. If you’re anything like me, after 5 minutes of reading, you’ll want to run away from the computer and get rid of as much as you can.
So the theme of spring 2013 in our house is Simplify. And my hope is to be sharing a few DIY projects this season that will help you to do the same, if you are so inclined.
haha this happens to me every spring too. Decluttering! I just wish me and my boyfriends would be even remotely on the same lines with the simplifying, but no…
That is serious amount of stuff, well done!!
I too love the change of the seasons, I keep waiting for the next season to start and have hard time enjoying the season as it is now.
Maybe this article from Becoming Minimalist could help with A? https://www.becomingminimalist.com/simplicity-when-your-spouse-doesnt-get-it/
